The program

Built for the gap between school and the real world

Independent studios and micro-manufacturers lose money every day to costing errors, slow quoting, and wasted material — not because designers aren't talented, but because they were never given the right tools.

Campus to Studio bridges that gap. Working directly with design faculty, Maker's Yield & Cost puts professional costing, yield modeling, and BOM documentation into the hands of students who are already solving these problems with spreadsheets and guesswork.

This isn't a classroom software license. It's a working collaboration between Maker's Yield & Cost, faculty, and students and alumni who want to be the first in their field to do this right.

The process

How Campus to Studio works

Designed around how design schools actually operate — not how software companies wish they did.

01

Faculty get early access

Participating faculty receive direct TestFlight and Google Play testing access before any student involvement. No commitment, no agenda — just time to explore the tool on your own terms.

02

On-campus introduction

The founder visits campus for a focused session — not a product demo, but a working conversation about costing and yield in real studio practice. Short. No slides. Honest.

03

Open to every school and university

Anyone with an active school or university email gets full beta access, complimentary, with no contracts.

04

Evangelists, not users

These students aren't beta testers. They're the people who will carry professional tools into their studios, into their teams, and into the industry when they graduate.

The research

This isn't marketing. It's a study.

Campus to Studio is grounded in graduate-level research measuring whether focused, designer-centric tools can meaningfully reduce costing errors, shorten quoting time, and improve material yield in small studio workflows.

The student community will provide the first real-world, app-assisted comparison data. Participants contribute to both a product and a body of evidence that can shape how design schools approach operational tooling for the next generation of studio owners.
