These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and MAKER'S YIELD & COST ("Maker's Yield & Cost," "Company," "we," "us," or "our"), governing your access to and use of makersyield.com, the Maker's Yield & Cost mobile application, and all related services (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. During the beta, the Service is open to anyone with an active school or university email who confirms it.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an account and to keep it updated. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@makersyield.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
The Service is offered in Student, Studio Pro, and Faculty & Enterprise tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis through Stripe, Inc. You may cancel at any time through your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide partial-period refunds unless required by applicable law. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of any price increase.
You retain full ownership of all product data, batch records, materials, supplier information, photographs, and other content you enter into the Service ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited license to store and process Your Content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not sell Your Content or use it to train general AI models.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of Your Content. Cost estimates, yield calculations, and pricing outputs are informational aids only. The Company is not responsible for any business, pricing, accounting, or tax decisions made based on Service outputs.
Butler is the AI assistant in the MYC mobile app. During the beta, Butler is available on supported iPhone and Android phones. It is not available in the web app. To use Butler, you first download an AI model to your phone (about 1.9 GB). Butler then runs on your phone and answers from the product data stored in the app on that phone. AI outputs are probabilistic and may contain errors, so check them before you rely on them. Beta usage data improves our features and trains future versions of our AI assistant. Your Butler conversations, including what Butler writes about a photo, are saved to your account so you can see them on your other devices.
You agree not to: use the Service for unlawful purposes; attempt unauthorized access; reverse engineer or decompile the Service; develop a directly competing product using knowledge of the Service; introduce viruses or harmful code; or scrape or crawl the Service without written permission.
The Service — including its software, algorithms, the MYC Unified AI Manufacturing Intelligence Architecture (Vision-to-Knowledge Grounding System, Parametric Product Intelligence Engine, Hybrid Manufacturing Knowledge Graph), and all related technology — is owned by or licensed to the Company and protected by intellectual property law. A patent application is pending (Patent Pending — not a granted patent). These Terms do not transfer any ownership of Company IP to you.
The Service integrates with Firebase (Google), Stripe, Vercel, Resend, and Cloudflare. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for the availability or practices of third-party services.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR ACCURACY OF CALCULATIONS. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE COMPANY'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) FEES PAID IN THE PRIOR 12 MONTHS OR (B) $100 USD. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Company from any claims arising from your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms.
Either party may terminate access at any time. We may suspend your account for material breach. Upon termination, your license to use the Service ceases. Sections 5, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14, and 15 survive termination.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York and applicable U.S. federal law. Any court proceeding permitted under these Terms will be brought in the state or federal courts located in the State of New York.
Before filing any formal claim, contact us at support@makersyield.com to attempt informal resolution. Unresolved disputes shall be settled by binding arbitration under AAA rules. You waive the right to participate in class action litigation or arbitration. Either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property or confidential information.
We will provide at least 30 days' advance notice of material changes. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

This EULA applies to the Maker's Yield & Cost mobile application ("App") distributed via Apple TestFlight, the Apple App Store, and Google Play. It supplements the Terms of Service above.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, solely for your personal or internal business purposes in accordance with these Terms.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, rent, sell, or sublicense the App. You may not remove any proprietary notices or use the App in violation of applicable law.
If you accessed the App via Apple TestFlight or the App Store: these Terms are between you and the Company only, not Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App, and is not responsible for any claims relating to the App. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this EULA and may enforce it against you.
If you accessed the App via Google Play or Google Play Testing: these Terms are between you and the Company only, not Google LLC. Google bears no responsibility for the App or your use of it.
On-device AI inference (via llama.rn) processes data locally on your device and does not transmit your product data to external servers for AI computation.
We may automatically update the App. These Terms apply to all updates.
You may not use or export the App in violation of U.S. export laws, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and OFAC sanctions programs.
This EULA terminates automatically if you fail to comply with its terms. Upon termination, delete all copies of the App from your devices.
