A fingerprint for your Tech Pack

Smart IP Shield is part of the Maker's Yield & Cost app, on mobile and web. When you export a Tech Pack, it computes a SHA-256 fingerprint of selected product data and prints a seal with that fingerprint on the Tech Pack.

Free under the beta license. Every beta tester can use Smart IP Shield at no cost, on mobile and web. Selling it as a paid add-on comes later.

What it does

  • Computes a SHA-256 fingerprint of selected product data, such as measurements, materials and parts.
  • Prints a Smart IP Shield seal with that fingerprint on the exported Tech Pack.
  • Shows the fingerprint in the app, with a Sealed Time. The device records the Sealed Time.
  • Helps you compare later. If the selected product data changes, the fingerprint changes.

What it does not do

  • It does not stop anyone from copying your design.
  • It does not file or grant a patent, trademark or copyright for you.
  • It does not protect your rights in law, and it is not legal advice.
  • Sealed Time is not an independent timestamp.
  • It does not prove who created a design first.
